"You could always just leave. Then you wouldn't have to deal with it. Do you want to leave?" he asked, pulling his hand away from hers and cocking one thick eyebrow at her.

"I'd rather put up with someone impossible than slowly go insane from social isolation," she said matter-of-factually. Elle frowned when he let go of her hand, but lifted it up and crossed her arms against Sylar's chest, leaning against them. "Besides that, you don't wanna take the chance I might run around and blab everything I've learned about you." It was meant to be a playful remark, but she wouldn't be surprised if he took it the wrong way, so she tensed a little just in case.

"It's not like they can kill me." Sylar said, staring at her as she leaned against his chest. He didn't want her to tell, though. Bringing his hand up, he ran his fingers through some of her hair and frowned. "I'd really rather not deal with that, though."

Elle rolled her eyes. She leaned her head into his hand. "It's like you don't know me at all," she whined. Pushing against his chest, she sat back up on his thighs and frowned. Bored. Again. Yawning, the girl crossed her arms over her stomach and slumped heavily. "You should be more entertaining," she mumbled.

"He is boring." Luke agreed, but he was most likely bored because the other two were ignoring him and he really didn't like to be ignored.

Rolling his eyes, Sylar began untangling himself from the two of them. It wasn't his duty to entertain them. Sylar was impatient himself, and didn't want to become irritated again with the two of them.
Managing to push himself up, he moved from the couch and stretched. "I don't have to sit here and take this." he muttered. He wasn't sure what he was going to do, but he needed to do something.

Luke jumped to his feet and followed Sylar, grabbing his arm. "Where are you going?" It occurred to Luke at this point that they were in Sylar's house so he couldn't exactly leave. But he was still worried. He didn't want to do anything stupid.

His first reaction was to pull his arm out of the others grip, and he turned on him. But then he relaxed, tilting his head to the side. "I don't know. I don't have anything to entertain the two of you with. This isn't some vacation we're all taking together, we're not this..happy family or good friends or..whatever."

Luke laughed. "Do you really think any of us have any idea what it's like to be part of a happy family? I've never had good friends either. I'm not trying to make us be anything."

Elle sprawled out on the couch when the other two got up. Stretching her arms and legs she couldn't touch both the arms. Was she really that short? She arched her back in a yawn while they talked, then collapsed back down on the couch with a huff, arms at her side. Luke's last couple sentences made her scowl. Truth be told, she loved her daddy. He may have done some things in the past and present that could be considered unforgivable, but he was always there for her when she needed him... Well, he used to be.
"Why can't we treat it like a vacation?" she mumbled lazily in Sylar's direction. "We're on a tropical island. We have food, powers, we could do anything we want. Take anything we want. I mean, sure, we can't rule the world, but at least they didn't drug us and throw us in those cages." Elle stared up at the ceiling for a minute, considering. "At least they didn't take away our powers," she finished, tilting her head to look at Sylar again.

"That's what I said." And Sylar had gone totally mental. To be honest, he kind of agreed with Elle. That was the outlook he'd had at the beginning anyway. Maybe Sylar was right with what he'd said before, maybe both of them were just too naive.

"Cages I can break out of. I've done it before. This island..." he shook his head and shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not exactly a lay on the beach and tan sort of person." Just the knowledge that he was trapped there and couldn't leave was enough to make him half crazy.
"We're like sitting ducks. One day we wake up and there's an H-bomb dropping on us. Some things I don't even think I can come back from..."

Luke frowned. "I don't think so. They'd have killed us already if they planned to kill us." He really didn't think they were in danger of that.

"They didn't kill me when they had me there, either. I think they planned to. First they tested me. They wanted to see how I worked before they offed me." Sylar said, almost shuddering at the blurred, drugged out glimpses of the tests they'd run on him.
"Could be another test. Social experiment." he said, lifting his hands and laying them on either side of the boys face. With a fond sort of chuckle that came off more creepy than he'd intended, Slyar leaned in and pressed a kiss to Luke's forehead. "So naive."

"But they can't kill you. I mean, we just killed you and now you're back." He scowled, not even grateful for the kiss because it was so patronizing. He folded his arms. "I'm not naive, I'm being optimistic."
